Who we are

Information we collect

When you contact us, through the quote form, by email or by phone, we collect the information you give us: your name, phone number, email, postcode or property address, and the details of the electrical work you need. If you visit the site we also collect anonymous technical information such as pages viewed and approximate location, purely to keep the site working and improve it.

How we use your information

• To reply to your enquiry and provide a quote.
• To book, carry out and certify the electrical work you asked for.
• To keep records for our accountants, insurers and NAPIT, as required by law.
• To send you the paperwork for your job (invoice, certification).

We do not sell your data. We do not send marketing emails unless you ask us to.

Lawful basis

Under UK GDPR we rely on legitimate interests (responding to your enquiry), contract (delivering the work you booked) and legal obligation (keeping records for HMRC and NAPIT).

Sharing

We share the minimum necessary with our accountant, our insurers and, for certification and notification, NAPIT and Building Control. We may share information with a third party where we are required to by law.

Retention

Enquiries that don't turn into a job are kept for up to 12 months. Job records, certificates and invoices are kept for the period required by tax law and by our professional obligations (currently 6 years).

Your rights

You have the right to ask what we hold on you, to correct it, to have it deleted (subject to legal record-keeping) and to object to processing. Email hhelectricalsw@outlook.com. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
