Same-week appointments
Small works are usually in the diary within a few days, no ghosting, no missed appointments.
Extra sockets, lighting installs and rewires, kitchen and bathroom extractor fans, outdoor lights and small domestic electrical works. Straight call-out pricing, no over-selling.
Free surveys · fixed-price written quotes · NAPIT registered
Straight explanation, no jargon padding, so you can decide whether it's the right call before you even ring us.
Small electrical faults have a way of not staying small. The socket that gets a bit warm becomes the socket that arcs; the DIY extension lead becomes the melted plug. Small works done properly is the cheapest form of preventive electrical work there is.
The same discipline we run on a single-socket call-out and a full commercial fit-out. Predictable, documented, tidy.
Free on-site survey. We look at the existing installation, the space and the outcome you need, no pressure, no obligation.
We scope the work, agree the spec in plain English and give you a fixed-price written quote with no hidden extras.
We turn up when we say we will, protect the space with dust sheets and keep disruption to your day to a minimum.
Every circuit is tested to BS 7671 (18th Edition). Nothing gets signed off until the readings are right.
You get NAPIT-backed certification, a tidy handover and a clear explanation of what's been done and why.
Small works are usually in the diary within a few days, no ghosting, no missed appointments.
Clear call-out rates agreed before we come out, and surveys are always free.
Dust sheets, minimal chase, proper making good, we leave the room looking like we were never there.
Minor Works or Electrical Installation Certificate as appropriate, paperwork you keep for insurance and sale.
If a small job is really a symptom of a bigger issue, we'll tell you, not pad the invoice.
Same team you can call for the rewire, the EV charger or the EICR later, you don't have to explain your installation twice.
The specifics, so you can compare us like-for-like against anyone else you're quoting against.

Extra sockets are usually run as a spur from an existing ring final (one socket per spur, correctly cable-sized) or as a new circuit from the consumer unit if the load or count justifies it. We check the existing ring first, you can't spur from a socket that's already a spur, and we test the completed work before signing it off. Kitchen sockets go on dedicated cable behind units where possible so they're not disturbed by the next kitchen refit.
Full room lighting rewires, replacement of pendants with recessed downlighting, installation of dimmable circuits with appropriate LED-compatible dimmers, two-way and intermediate switching for corridors and stairs, and outdoor lighting on separate switching or PIR control. All fittings selected for the zone and IP rating required, especially in bathrooms and outside.
Extractor fans in bathrooms and en-suites without opening windows are a Building Regulations Part F requirement. We install fans to the correct extraction rate, wired via a switched fused spur with a run-on timer where required, and vented externally through a wall or roof cowl. Kitchen extractors on separate switching so they're not permanently tied to the light.
Outdoor sockets installed on a dedicated RCD-protected circuit (or via an RCBO), IP-rated to at least IP55, positioned to avoid direct rainfall where possible. Outdoor lights matched to the location's zone and finish, brass or stainless in coastal environments, powder-coated steel or aluminium inland. All fittings sealed to their gaskets and tested at commissioning.
Sometimes what starts as a small works enquiry, 'can you add a socket', turns out to be a symptom of a bigger issue like a full consumer unit at capacity, or an old circuit that's already carrying a hidden load. We'll be straight about it and quote the right work rather than paper over the problem. If it's genuinely a small works job, that's what we invoice.

Small works are charged as call-out plus materials at our agreed rate. Most single-socket additions are done inside the first-hour band; longer cable runs or dedicated circuits are quoted before we start.
For small works we usually offer same-week appointments. For genuine emergencies (sparking sockets, dead circuits, loss of power) we're available 24/7 at the out-of-hours rate.
Yes, with the correct IP rating for the bathroom zone, fire-rated fittings if you're above another room, and appropriate LED drivers. We'll advise on layout at the visit.
Yes, on RCD-protected circuits, IP55 or higher, positioned to avoid direct rainfall. Certified on completion.
Absolutely, we use LED-compatible dimmers matched to the fittings you're keeping so you don't get flicker or buzzing. Bring us the lamp specifications and we'll choose the right dimmer.
For any work that adds or alters a circuit you get a Minor Works Certificate or, for larger changes, an Electrical Installation Certificate. Keep it with your property paperwork.
Yes, happy to hold keys for the day if we've done a survey and quoted first, or work while a family member is home. We're used to letting ourselves in and locking up cleanly.
Yes, with run-on timers, sized to the correct extraction rate, vented externally. It's a Building Regulations Part F requirement in windowless wet rooms.
Yes. H&H Electrical is NAPIT registered, our EV work is NAPIT-accredited and Ohme approved, and we carry public liability, employers' liability and indemnity insurance in full.
We cover Chepstow, Newport, Bristol & across South Wales, the South West, Cardiff, Bath, Gloucestershire, Caldicot, Magor and Undy. Ring us if you're just outside, most of the time we can still help.
Bank transfer or cash. We don't take card. Small jobs are call-out plus materials; larger jobs are quoted at a fixed price up front so you know the total before we start.
