24/7 out-of-hours cover · fully insured · NAPIT registered
Straight explanation, no jargon padding, so you can decide whether it's the right call before you even ring us.
The reason emergency electrical faults become emergency electrical disasters is delay. Every hour that a burning smell is ignored, that a socket keeps arcing, that an RCD is repeatedly reset, the failure mode gets worse and the eventual fix gets more expensive.
The same discipline we run on a single-socket call-out and a full commercial fit-out. Predictable, documented, tidy.
Free on-site survey. We look at the existing installation, the space and the outcome you need, no pressure, no obligation.
We scope the work, agree the spec in plain English and give you a fixed-price written quote with no hidden extras.
We turn up when we say we will, protect the space with dust sheets and keep disruption to your day to a minimum.
Every circuit is tested to BS 7671 (18th Edition). Nothing gets signed off until the readings are right.
You get NAPIT-backed certification, a tidy handover and a clear explanation of what's been done and why.

Any circuit-altering emergency work is documented and certified, the paperwork goes on file with your installation history.
The specifics, so you can compare us like-for-like against anyone else you're quoting against.

Genuine electrical emergencies include: loss of power to a whole property or a critical circuit (freezer, medical equipment, security system, business trading), sparking or arcing at any accessory, burning smells from consumer units or accessories, exposed live parts from damage or water ingress, and any situation where continuing to use the installation isn't safe. If you're unsure, ring, we'll tell you honestly whether it's an emergency or something that can safely wait.
The first thing we do is make the installation safe, usually by isolating the affected circuit at the consumer unit and confirming no exposed live parts. Then we diagnose: insulation resistance testing to narrow the fault, continuity and voltage testing to localise it, physical inspection of the suspect section. Most single-fault jobs are fixed on the first visit; occasionally a fault needs a follow-up scheduled visit for parts, in which case we leave the installation safe overnight.
Standard call-outs run Mon–Sun 7am–8pm; out-of-hours covers evenings after 8pm, overnight, and any hour where the fault is genuinely emergency-response. Rates are quoted before we come out and cover call-out plus materials, no surge pricing, no minimum-visit padding.
For commercial premises and landlord portfolios, we can wrap emergency call-out into a maintenance contract with priority scheduling and pre-agreed rates. This is often cheaper over a year than reactive-only, especially if you're already running EICR cycles with us. See our planned maintenance page.
If the loss of power is the whole street, or your neighbours have also lost power, the fault is on the distribution network, not your installation. Ring your local Distribution Network Operator (Western Power in most of our area) on 105. If only your property is affected, or a specific circuit is down, that's on us to diagnose.
Still unsure? Ring us on 07491 966787 , surveys and quotes are free.
Standard hours run 7am–8pm, Mon–Sun, with out-of-hours cover the rest of the time. Rates are agreed before we come out, call-out plus materials, no surge pricing, no minimum-visit padding.

If you can smell burning or see sparking, isolate at the main switch on the consumer unit if you can do so safely. If water is involved, don't touch anything, turn off at the main switch and wait. If it's a single tripped RCD, don't keep resetting it, leave it off until we arrive.
Yes, 24/7 out-of-hours cover, including weekends and bank holidays. Out-of-hours rates apply outside 7am–8pm Mon–Sun.
If the whole street is affected, or your neighbours are also without power, ring your DNO (typically Western Power) on 105, the fault is on the grid, not your installation. If only your property is affected, ring us.
Most single-fault emergency jobs are diagnosed and fixed on the first visit. Occasionally a fault needs a scheduled follow-up for parts or larger remedial work, in that case we leave the installation safely isolated and quote the follow-up before leaving.
